"Unknown Treasures" Silk Dress and Crepe Dress

Description

Two dresses from unknown productions. One is a white silk dress while the other is a red and black crepe dress with matching gloves. 

White Dress: White silk sleeveless dress with three black pompoms down obverse and three tiered ruffles at bottom with black trim along edges. Obverse center of collar has clear button. Reverse center of neckline has small slit with hook and eye clasp at top. Morris Angel & Son, Ltd, tag in interior of proper right with faded text. Accompanied by a white tulie arm band with silver trim.

Red and Black Dress: Red and black crepe dress with long sleeves and attached hood. Interior turtleneck snap buttons together on reverse. Reverse center of dress has zipper closure. Interior tag on proper left side of reverse reads “COLUMBIA PICTURES / 1311 / NAME Kim Novak.” Accompanied by a black crepe glove for the right hand and a red crepe glove for the left hand.

Condition

White Dress: Light yellow stains underneath each armpit. Small pinholes throughout. Dirt marks throughout ruffles at bottom. Bottom pompom is loose and hanging from one string. Tape and tape residue attached on reverse center slit and on reverse of shoulders. Stamped text on interior tag is faded. Tears in fabric on dress cuff where it attaches to elastic.

Red and Black Dress: Color is faded on reverse of hood from light exposure. Gloves show no signs of damage.
