"Unknown Treasures" Clergy and Nun Costumes

Description

Two religious costumes from unknown productions. One is a clergy coat, while the other is a nun costume.

Clergy Coat: Black cotton clergy coat with long sleeves and 12 button closures down center of obverse. Coat has stand up collar and Logan Costume Co. label sewn into interior with the name “GREGORY / PECK” handwritten in black ink.

Nun Costume - Veil: Black linen veil with two interior ties that allow it to attach to coif.

Nun Costume - Coif: White coif headpiece worn line a hood. Accessory covers head while leaving face exposed, most likely ends at shoulders. There are ties at each side that tie to the black veil.

Nun Costume - Collar #1: White collar slightly rectangular in shape that comes to a point at each end. A tie extends off the point. Label on reverse reads “VF401”.

Nun Costume - Collar #2: White collar that drapes over shoulders and covers part of torso. Collar has three hook and eye closures on reverse.

Nun Costume - Scapular: Black cotton scapular that hangs over the front and back and is open at the sides. Garment is worn over habit.

Nun Costume - Habit: Black cotton nun’s habit with three snap closures on reverse and slit at center. There is a label on interior that reads “REBECCA”

Condition

Clergy Coat: Minor spots of discoloration throughout collar.

Nun Costume: Minor creases throughout. Ends of ties are fraying. Pinholes throughout from how previously displayed.

Nun Costume - Coif:  Ties are slightly misshapen from being stored while tied. Fabric is yellowing slightly. 

Nun Costume - Collar #2:  Soiling on obverse proper right. Red mark on interior. 

Nun Costume - Scapular and Habit: Minor white spots of soiling on bottom hem.
