"Unknown Treasure" Green Satin Coat with Pants

Description

Two (2) piece ensemble from an unknown production from the 1940s. Costume consists of a satin coat with matching pants.

Coat: Apple green satin coat with decorative gold-toned trim throughout lapel, cuffs, and pockets. There are decorative ribbons at each shoulder. Gold-toned buttons can be found throughout jacket at proper right lapel, center of torso, sleeve cuffs and pockets. Lace detailing is also added to the ends of each sleeve. There is an internal Warner Bros. Pictures, Inc. label attached to interior of neckline with handwriting throughout that reads “Scottie Beckett / 3/19/46 Short 63.” “2 R 1 is stamped on label.”

Pants: Apple green satin pants with decorative ribbon ties at bottom of each pant leg. Pants have hook and eye closures along sides of pants along with four button closures throughout waist. “Scotty Beckett” is handwritten on the interior of each pant leg, front and back.

Condition

Coat: Rust colored stain obverse proper right chest. Fading to shoulders and sleeves. Unable to determine if lines throughout fabric are intentional or not. Fraying at ends of ribbons.

Pants: Decorative ribbon is missing from bottom of one pant leg and is stored in a separate bag. Spot of soiling on proper right leg towards interior seam. Fading throughout waist band.
