"Unknown Treasure" Gold and Black Bloodied Jacket

Description

Early modern jacket from an unknown production, possibly 1970s. Jacket with long sleeves and decorative black and gold brocade throughout the bust, arms, and cuffs. There is decorative gold trim along seams on arms, flaps along the center front, shoulder caps, and bottom. Slits in both sleeves that the shirt would have been pulled through. Jacket has decorative gold buttons along proper right lapel. Four buttons are used to close the garment, and three at the bottom are decorative. Two hooks close the garment at the neck. Stylized lions and other intricate designs are seen throughout the exterior of the garment. Interior is lined with a golden fabric. Large faux blood stain on the obverse proper left at center. Reverse is black with vertical stripes. The bottom of the reverse splits in the middle up to the waist. There are no labels on the garment.

Condition

Garment is wrinkled and creased throughout. The bottom two buttons on the obverse is missing. Loose threading on the reverse of the proper left arm.
