"Unknown Treasure" Tunic

Description

Tunic from an unknown production circa 1940. Green silk brocade tunic with gold lamé floral embroidery throughout. Collar has brown faux fur trim, while each sleeve has salmon-colored silk panels outlined with brown faux fur trim. Cuffs of each sleeve have two hook and eye closure. Reverse center has hook and eye closure. Interior is lined with green fabric. Western Costume Co. tag on interior at reverse proper right has red embroidered and black handwritten text reading “Western Costume Co / HOLLYWOOD / NO. 21187 / NAME Jack Benny / CHEST 41 SLEEVE 48½ / WAIST 34 INSEAM.”

Condition

Minor loose threading throughout of embroidery. Tear in seam at salmon silk lining on proper right sleeve at proper left edge. Silk torn on top of each shoulder, especially on proper left shoulder. Light staining on lining at armpit. Tag from interior appears to have been cut out below collar.
