"The Good Earth" O-Lan's (Luise Rainer) Shirt and Pants

Description

Created by the production for use in "The Good Earth" (1937) for Luise Rainer's portrayal of "O-Lan." This is a two-piece lot consisting of a shirt and a pair of pants.

Mannequins not included.

Includes Planet Hollywood Certificate of Authenticity.

Shirt: Mauve woven shirt with standup collar. Toggle closures at front of collar, proper right shoulder and side. Tan and purple trim on collar, chest, and sleeve cuffs. Label on interior of collar reads “L. Rainer.” There is an “MGM” stamp on interior lining.

Pants: Mauve woven pants with thick cotton band at waist with drawstring that ties at side. Pants have faded to a brown tone. Tag on interior of waist band that reads “L. Rainer.”

Condition

Shirt: Shirt is faded throughout. Collar is coming loose. Snags throughout material. Discoloration to interior lining. Visible pinholes and rust stains on interior lining.

Pants: Pants are faded throughout with rust-colored spots of discoloration throughout bottoms of pant legs. Pinholes with rust stains throughout waist band from how previously displayed. Tear at slit on lower proper right pant leg.
