"Marvel Comics" Metal Lunchbox and Thermo Bottle

Description

Acquired from Christie's South Kensington, merchandising tie-in lunchbox and Thermo Bottle featuring “Marvel Comics" characters.

Lunchbox: Metal lunchbox with a hinged lid and a black plastic handle. The lunchbox has an image on the front of Thor, Spider-man, and Captain America all over a space background, and reads "MARVEL COMICS' / SUPER / HEROES /   *Trademark of MARVEL COMICS GROUP / a division of Cadence Industries Corporation" and along the bottom reads "ALADDIN INDUSTRIES INCORPORATED, NASHVILLE, TENN. 37210 USA.(A) / (c) 1976 MARVEL COMICS GROUP / a division of Cadence Industries Corporation. / All rights reserved.". There is a Christie's tag in the bottom corner on the front. The back of the lunchbox shows The Fantastic Four, and reads "MARVEL COMICS' / SUPER / HEROES", with the same trademark and copyright information as the front. The sides of the lunchbox are decorated with pictures of the characters from the comics. The interior has some general safety guidelines for children in the form of a poem. Original "Christie's" tag is attached.

Thermo Bottle: White plastic Thermo bottle with a black plastic lid. The side reads "MARVEL COMICS' / SUPER / HEROES" and the sides have images of the characters from the comics. The bottom edge of the sides reads "(c) 1976 Marvel Comics' Group, All Rights Reserved / Trade Mark of Marvel Comics' Group / ALADDIN INDUSTRIES INCORPORATED, NASHVILLE, TENN. 37210 USA.(A)". The lid reads "THERMO BOTTLE / Aladdin / THERMO BOTTLE".

Condition

Lunchbox: Sticker residue on the back. Small bit of blue pigment missing on Mr. Fantastic's hand on the back. Overall good condition.

Thermo Bottle: Image faded due to overexposure to light.
