Dorothy Lamour's Personal Greeting Cards

Description

Collection of six (6) greeting cards from owned by Dorothy Lamour. These were personalized greeting cards made especially for her with her likeness featured on four (4) of the cards. All cards are accompanied by their original envelopes.

Card #1: White greeting card with drawing of Dorothy Lamour's profile. A black and yellow fabric hat with a black feather have been attached. There are three gold beads glued onto the wrist to create a bracelet. "Dottie" is written below the hand. Comes with a cream-colored envelope.

Card #2: Paper greeting card with an artistic rendering of Dorothy Lamour. Signature at proper bottom right corner reads "Harman '78." Text on reverse reads "Dorothy Lamour / by Bob Harman." Comes with a white envelope.

Card #3: Cream colored paper greeting card with "dottie" in green at proper bottom left corner.  Notecard has not been folded over. Comes with a cream-colored envelope.

Card #4: Greeting card designed for Dorothy Lamour by Bob Harman. The front shows a colorful caricature of Lamour in a red tropical dress with an oversized head, standing in a tropical setting, with the heads of seven (7) men floating around her. The front reads "Harman '79" at bottom proper right corner. Back reads "On An Island With Dorothy / By Bob Harman" at bottom center. Interior is blank. Comes with a plain white envelope.

Card #5: Blue paper greeting card with images of blue and green butterflies on it.  Text at top reads "data from dorothy." Comes with matching blue envelope with blue and green butterflies. on both sides.

Card #6: Paper greeting card with artistic rendering of Dorothy Lamour floating over the "HOLLYWOOD" sign at the center of obverse riding a banana in front of a boutonniere.  Image of Dorothy Lamour depicts her sitting on the banana with her proper right leg crossed behind her left. Writing on reverse at center reads "THE L.A. PICTUREWORKS." Writing in lower proper left corner reads "THE GREAT AMERICAN GODDESS: "DOROTHY" / BY JUDITH STRICK / © COPYRIGHT 1979 THE LA PICTUREWORKS / LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA 90024." Comes with white envelope.

Card #1: Red accretion on reverse.

Card #2: Scratches on obverse.

Card #3: Proper top right and proper bottom left corners bent.  Pencil mark on reverse.

Card #4: Excellent condition.

Card #5: Overall good condition.

Card #6: Minor wear at corners. Dent along top edge towards proper right corner.
