"Beneath the Planet of the Apes" Gorilla Costume Shirt and Pants

Description

Created by the production for use in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" (1970) for a Gorilla soldier. This is a two-piece lot consisting of a gorilla soldier uniform shirt and matching pants.

Mannequins not included.

Includes Planet Hollywood Certificate of Authenticity.

Shirt: Black cotton shirt with zipper-front closure. Western Costume Co. tag sewn into interior. Tag was apparently attached to shirt when it was dyed black as the tag is also black. White Western Costume Co. stamp next to the costume tag.

Pants: Pair of gray cotton pants with zipper and button front closure. Western Costume tag and stamp on interior of waistband. White tag on interior with handwritten text reading “32/31.”

Condition

Shirt: Sleeves and part of collar are heavily faded from prior display.

Pants: Pants are heavily faded throughout legs on obverse and slightly on reverse from light exposure. Three repaired tears on reverse on the bottom of the seat.
