Welcome to our first of (hopefully) many entries where we feature collectors of Hollywood memorabilia and give them a platform to share! Our first featured collector comes from Florida where he owns "Off The Set Props & Firearms."
- Can you share a little about yourself?
My name is Eric Speiser, and I’ve been collecting movie props, ephemera, comics, and collectibles since 1998.
[I own] a small boutique fully licensed firearm shop here in Stuart, Florida called Off The Set Props & Firearms, that specializes in bringing screen used movie prop firearms from studio, to set, into collections.
I also modify live fire firearms to replicate what’s seen on screen for collectors to safely use and own where legally permitted.
- What can you tell us about your collection?
My personal collection includes movie props from Underworld, Total Recall, Starship Troopers, Judge Dredd, Robocop, Terminator, Space Above & Beyond, Aliens, Twister, and more.
- What was the first item in your collection?
My first prop was a screen used hero Starship Troopers Morita rifle.
- What's your favorite item in your collection? Do you have a certain prop or costume you'd love to add to it?
One of my favorite items in my collection right now are my functional Dorothy sensors from the original Twister movie.
I would love to add one of the hero Face/Off gold 1911 Springfield pistols previously featured in Planet Hollywood Orlando into my archive.
- Are you currently expanding your collection or seeking new items for it?
Always expanding my collection of screen used movie props! Purchased quite a few from the Heritage & PH auction recently!
