The Planet Hollywood collection has had dozens of "Beetlejuice" (1988) items in the collection over the years. One of my favorites is the "Handbook for the Recently Deceased." Not only is it a big part of the film's narrative, it's also a beautifully designed cover.
The sequel to the film, titled "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," is in theaters tomorrow and rumor has it a copy of the handbook makes an appearance. We're excited to check out this very long-awaited sequel. (And we do mean long-awaited as it's been 36 years!!!)
Are you excited for the film? If you've seen it, what did you think?
Is there a prop, costume, or model from the first film that you love, or would love in your collection?
Update: Our team saw the film over the weekend, and we loved it! Fans of the first film are in for a treat as there are a ton of connections to the first while having a totally unique storyline. It's strange and unusual, and the whole experience is just fun! It was a bit darker and more gruesome than the original, but it's pure Tim Burton. This is the same Tim Burton who made "Batman Returns," "Mars Attacks!" and "Sleepy Hollow" so he knows a thing or two about throwing in some scenes in his movies that are not for the squeamish.
I'm going to be watching it again as soon as I can to see what details I may have missed, and to maybe sing along where I can.
"Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" is in theaters now!

We’ll definitely keep that in mind for future posts, C.B.!
Would very much love to see any photos from PH’s past collections referenced in these blog posts. :)
