"Superman" (1978) Metal Lunchbox and Thermo Bottle

Description

Acquired from Christie's South Kensington, merchandising tie-in lunchbox and Thermo bottle featuring "Superman" (1978).

Lunchbox: Metal lunchbox with a hinged lid and a red plastic handle. The lunchbox has an image on the front of Christopher Reeve in his role as Superman, flying over a city with a green sky behind him, and reads below him "SUPERMAN", and along the bottom "Copyright (c) DC COMICS, INC. 1978 / ALADDIN INDUSTRIES INCORPORATED, NASHVILLE, TENN. 37210 USA.(A)". The back of the lunchbox shows Reeve as Clark Kent, with the other characters from the movie in an office setting and reads "SUPERMAN" along the top and has the same copyright information along the bottom. The sides of the lunchbox are decorated with scenes from the film. The interior has some general safety guidelines for children in the form of a poem. Original product tag is attached.

Thermo Bottle: White plastic Thermo bottle with a red plastic lid. The side reads "SUPERMAN" and the sides have images of the characters and scenes from the film. The bottom edge of the sides reads "Copyright (c) DC COMICS, INC. 1978 / ALADDIN INDUSTRIES INCORPORATED, NASHVILLE, TENN. 37210 USA.(A)". The lid reads "THERMO BOTTLE / Aladdin / THERMO BOTTLE".

Condition

Lunchbox: Some very minor abrasions along the outer edges, resulting in minor loss of the red paint. Overall very good condition.

Thermo Bottle: Some fading due to light damage.
